"The best way out is always through"
BSc. (Hons) Psychology, BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling, RGN, MIACP.
I am a fully qualified and fully accredited (MIACP) Counsellor.
I trained at Cork Counselling Services. I hold a BSc. (Hons) degree in Psychology, a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also have been a Registered General Nurse for over 30 years.
I have my own private practice and work as a Psychotherapist with South East Technological University in Waterford (SETU).
My therapeutic approach is founded on a humanistic integrative model of counselling.
Clients generally come to counselling experiencing a variety of problems:
Stress and Anxiety
Suicide and Self-Harm
I work with both adults and adolescents
(ages 14 to 18).
I offer face-to-face counselling therapy, and also telephone and/or video counselling. I am also trained as a group facilitator to deliver group work.
I have worked for many years in various medical disciplines as a Registered General Nurse and as a Health & Safety Trainer. From my experience working in Ireland, England and Scotland I noticed a lack of professional support for patients and families experiencing both physical and psychological changes. After studying for an honours degree in Psychology, I further trained to become a qualified Integrative Humanistic Counsellor. I have a deep interest empowering others with issues around their physical and mental wellbeing.
