Maureen Corr BSc. (Hons) Psychology,

Dip Counselling, RGN, MIACP.

I am a fully qualified and fully accredited (MIACP) Counsellor.

I trained at Cork Counselling Services and I have a BSc. (Hons) degree in Psychology and have been a Registered General Nurse for over 30 years.

I have my own private practice and work as a sessional therapist with Waterford Institute of Technology, Pieta House in Waterford, The Dandelion Counselling Service and Cois Nore Cancer Support Service in Kilkenny.

My therapeutic approach is founded on a humanistic integrative model of counselling.

Clients generally come to counselling experiencing a variety of problems:

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Relationship Issues

  • Depression

  • Panic Attacks

  • Addiction

  • Phobias

  • Bereavement

  • Self-esteem Issues

  • Identity Issues

  • Trauma

  • Sleep Disturbance

  • Suicide and Self-Harm

I work with both adults and children (age 12 to 18).

Currently I am continuing to offer face to face counselling therapy whilst adhering to Covid-19 HSE/HSA guidelines

I am also offering telephone and/or video counselling

I have worked for many years in various medical disciplines as a Registered General Nurse and as a Health & Safety Trainer. From my experience working in Ireland, England and Scotland I noticed a lack of professional support for patients and families experiencing both physical and psychological changes.  After studying for an honours degree in Psychology, I further trained to become a qualified Integrative Humanistic Counsellor. I have a deep interest empowering others with issues around their physical and mental wellbeing.
